The Brooklyn Quarterly is currently seeking new team members for the following positions. Editorial Assistant(s) for social media and events
The Brooklyn Quarterly is seeking editorial assistants whose responsibilities will include editorial work, pitching ideas and reporting stories, recruiting writers and speakers, and especially planning and helping to execute our public events and social media campaigns. The position is part-time and unpaid, with flexible hours (approximately 5-10 hrs a week, more on the eve of larger events) and location requirements. Blog Editor
The Brooklyn Quarterly is seeking a blog editor to join our volunteer staff. Responsibilities include fielding and approving pitches, editing long- and short-form articles, reporting stories, recruiting writers and speakers, and executing an editorial vision that seeks to examine how cities affect our cultural and literary lives. The position is volunteer, with flexible hours and location requirements. The Brooklyn Quarterly, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Brooklyn. While the majority of our staff is based in New York City, we also have editors throughout the country, with weekly staff meetings via conference call.
