TBQ’s story has a new plot twist.
You may have seen ads on the subway asking “What’s Your Story?” The Made in NY Media Center by IFP in Dumbo, Brooklyn is asking and we decided to answer. Our story is that The Brooklyn Quarterly is growing by leaps and bounds and it was time for us to find a new home. Our first issue, Garages and Grassroots, is around the corner and so is its release party – November 7 at 8 pm at Huckleberry Bar, featuring readings by Julia Fierro, Jillian Steinhauer and Rebecca Dinerstein. In other words, it’s a hectic but exciting time and the perfect opportunity to make new friends in the Brooklyn media and technology community.
So during this, our first week as members of the NY Media Center workspace, we want to say how excited we are to be here. It’s a beautiful space and we look forward to being a part of it. We feel lucky to have found a place where the community we’re building can thrive in the company of others working on start-ups, film projects and new endeavors. The Media Center has the three C’s – create, collaborate, connect! – more than covered. You’ll definitely want to check out its public programming as well, which will include classes, workshops, panels, films and more. If you spot a TBQ editor while you’re here, come on over and say hello.
Check back at our blog space soon, where we plan to introduce you to some of our fellow members. Trust us – you’ll want to know what they’re working on!
